Easy Shepherd's Pie with Canned Beef

Ingredients

1 28oz can beef, drained/boiled/dried
2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1 onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
1 cup frozen peas
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup shredded cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare canned beef using your drain/boil/drain/dry method. Preheat oven to 375°F. 2. Boil potatoes until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt and pepper. 3. In large skillet, cook onion and carrots until softened, about 5 minutes. Add prepared beef and cook 3 minutes. 4. Stir in tomato paste, cook 1 minute. Add broth, Worcestershire, and peas. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened. 5. Transfer beef mixture to 9x13 baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes on top, sprinkle with cheese. 6. Bake 25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
